Description
Travel back in time with this wonderful old cornet. Made by Henry Distin in Williamsport, Pennsylvania sometime in the 1890s. It was played in The Ohio State University marching band in the early 1900s, by the grandfather of the 87-year old man I bought it from.It is in very fine to excellent condition. It has superb engraving all over, not just the bell. Serial #14,974. I'm not exactly sure what keys it plays with its various lead pipe extensions. Comes with two Henry Distin mouthpieces.
The piston finish is still good, and all are freshly lubed. All the tuning slides move properly and are freshly lubed.
It comes in its original Distin case, which is worn, but in good solid condition.
It is a remarkable antique cornet, ready to play.
