Description

Travel back in time with this wonderful old cornet. Made by C.G. Conn in Elkhart, Indiana, it's a model 80A, as stamped on the lead pipe. I got it from an 87-year old retired music teacher and cornet player. He kept the good stuff for himself.
With a serial number of 238,529, Conn made it in that Roaring Twenties year of 1926. It is in very fine, close to excellent condition. I can't really imagine a 1926 cornet in better condition. The slides all work properly. The piston finish looks great. The man cared for his instruments with loving care.
It has the so-called "opera glass" tuning slide. It's a Bb/A instrument. It mostly has a matte silver finish, with some glossy accents. Excellent engraving. Gold wash inner bell.
It comes with a Conn Wonder mouthpiece in fine condition. Sheet music lyre. Comes in the original Conn case.
