    Description

    8.7 ounces of antique perfection!
This 39" long necklace has 35" packed with treasures, I bought this one about ten years ago from a trusted dealer from Ghana.
There are some imperfections, like one of the beige agates towards the top is broken in half and the Cornaline d'Aleppo glass beads have fractures due to aging. To me they aren't imperfections but exactly the reason why I found them to be enticing enough to collect and purchase!
Cornaline d' Aleppo beads were made in Venice and are multi layered beads, the color beneath the red helps to gauge their age. On this strand they have yellow beneath the red, which places them at being created around 1830. There are 4 of them on here.
The center beads that look like a rough turquoise bead are called Kano beads/ Hebron beads and are created with salts from the Dead Sea.These 2 are estimated to be from early 1800's.
A large brass bead made in Nigeria
A couple of Adjagba beads made and worn by the Krobo people for special occasions such as a wedding are also found on this super strand! They are identified by the yellow and brown line combinations.
A  hard to find cobalt Russian blue glass trade bead, made in Venice in the early 1800's. The bead has worn away on the top of one side.
Vaseline beads, agates and quartz are also on this strand.
More photos available if you'd need them
