OLD VENETIAN GLASS MILLEFIORI AFRICAN TRADE BEAD

in the Late 1800’s through Early 1900s
A single Venetian Millefiori trade bead with beautiful mosaic design & colors!
This was purchased years ago (1970s) from a dealer in antique trade beads. I didn’t ask many questions at the time, but I have read that these beads were made with a wound glass core of black glass (see photos) & layered with the chevron-patterned millefiori decoration in many layers.

MEASUREMENTS:
About 4 ½ cm long x 1 ½ cm inside width
A tiny mm long crack or crevice was noted at one end; I noticed when looking at it with a magnifying glass (see photos).
