Antique Venetian Millefiori Glass Trade Bead Strand

Description

Probably from the early 1900s, here is a 29" strand of trade beads. They are Venetian in origin and have multiple patterns and colors with some subgroups of matched beads. Beads are 1/2"- 3/4" long and about 3/8" wide. They are not painted, the design is in the glass itself and the surfaces of the beads are smooth. The beads are strung on straw and should be restrung if they are going to be worn.
The beads exhibit wear due to their age. Of the 47 beads, I counted 7 with edge chips that could be seen or felt. None of the beads are cracked or broken.
For a collector, here is rare strand of original and very old beads from the African trade that are long enough for a necklace. The strand will be carefully packaged to protect the beads in transit.
