Conn Perfect Wonder Cornet 1907 Reconditioned Plays well
Instrument Specifics:
The cornet plays well. Especially in the mid register.  It seems a bit stuffy to me in the lower ones.
All slides pull easily.
The valves have good compression especially for an instrument this old.
Valves work well.
There is no 3rd valve finger ring.
Sn 99880 - This indicates it was made in 1907
Conn Small Bore - .415"
Silver plating is good.  A brass patch is under the bell crook not visible unless the horn is upside down. A few minor wrinkles, dents, and thin plating are visible under close inspection.
One of the finger buttons is mismatched.
Case:
Solid vintage, not original in good not perfect condition.
Horn fits well in the case.
Both latch springs work.
Mouthpiece:
A short shank Holton Cornet mouthpiece in fair condition that fits well into the horn. No size is listed.  My guess is it's a 7B. The plating on the rim and cup are good but the exterior is a bit rough.
Marking:
The bell is ornately engraved "Made by C.G. CONN Elkhart IND"
Engraved on the 2nd valve the patent date: April 2, 1907. It is for the angled tubing between the 2nd and 3rd valve.
The S above the union stamp on the 2nd valve stands for Small bore - 0.415"
Union Stamp stands for the “Metal Polishers and Finishers Union.
