  • Condition: The beads are in good condition. Likely they are soiled from age, but no cleaning has been undertaken. Three beads may have very shallow and small chips that are almost invisible.

    Description

    We will be selling our collection of very fine antique beads over the next several weeks.  The collection was created over 20 years.  All beads have been vetted by an expert for authenticity.
    This wonderful strand, composed of 43 beads, was created in Venice and dates from the mid-1800s - late 1800s, likely for trade in Africa.  Please study the photographs that include a dime to judge the size of the beads.  The diameter of a dime is about 2 cm. The weight of the strand is 5.5 ounces (about 155 gr.).  The length of the strand is about 22 inches (about 56 cm.)
