  • Condition: The beads are in good condition, but they are soiled from age, but no cleaning has been undertaken. Remarkably, insofar as we can see there is no physical damage to the beads, such as chips, but to be on the safe side we are going to say that 4 beads have very tiny and shallow chips that are largely invisible.

    Description

    We will be selling our collection of very fine antique beads over the next several weeks.  The collection was created over 20 years.  All beads have been vetted by an expert for authenticity.
    This wonderful strand, composed of 60 beads, was created in Venice and dates from the late 1800s, likely for trade in Africa.  Please study the photographs that include a dime to judge the size of the beads.  The diameter of a dime is about 2 cm. The weight of the strand is 5.2 ounces (about 150 gr.).  The length of the strand is about 28 inches (about 70 cm.)
