    {5533} (Cornet in B♭, Patent Conical Bore; windway runs mouthpiece receiver - main tuning-slide - B♭-A shunt - 2- 1 - 3 - bell; inscribed on bell with coat of arms / “BY APPOINTMENT / TO THE LATE / QUEEN VICTORIA / Patent / 1903 / RUDALL CARTE & CO / Manufacturers / 23 / BERNERS STREET / OXFORD STREET / LONDON / 5533”; inscribed on valves “13”, “14 / 3”, “15”).
    According to the firm's archives [Rudall Carte stock books], the instrument was “Cornet, B♭ short model l.b. P.C.B., quick change”; cost £3/7/11, entered in stock 8 Mar 1907; sold 8 Dec 1925 .> C. Embley, Ldn for £5/10/0; returned 12 Dec 1925, re-entered in stock; sold 12 Feb 1929 -> Miss M. Ibberson, Letchworth, for £3/7/6.
    As shown with original coffin case with original horse hair padded lining. No mouthpiece. Also included is a book about a previous owner Mary Ibberson creator of the Rural music school in England hardcover ex lib.
