These genuine Islamic prayer beads are a traditional craft of the Arabian Peninsula. Prized for generations, beads such as these are intricately inlaid by master craftsmen to create the unique and beautiful designs that characterize this unique art form. Look carefully and you will see that each silver dot has been individually applied and that no two beads are alike. Commonly referred to as Black Coral, these rare and highly sought-after beads are believed by some to have mystical properties. This unusual piece would be considered a special strand to be used for prayer or meditation. Yemen has historically been a primary source of Black Coral beads. Such beads are also found in other parts of the Islamic world including North and East Africa where they have been distributed through the years by merchants and traders. Antique beads such as these have some age and will show signs of wear including imperfections. This unique strand of round-shaped beads has been nicely finished with a traditional end-piece and weighs approximately 62 grams. You will receive the exact strand pictured.
