VINTAGE CHICAGO PNEUMATIC ELECTRIC DRILL-iNDUSTRIAL-CORDED-1940'S-GOOD-WORKS-CP

Description

Vintage CHICAGO PNEUMATIC corded electric drill.  Please look at photos as they are part of description.  Cast aluminum body.  1/4" chuck.
I have owned this for about 50 years.  Got it from a friend who said it was a line drill at Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, California.  That was just a few miles away so it is possible.
It works, barely.  I was very careful considering the cord but it starts and spins OK with the brushes arcing badly.
In good solid condition.  Shows a lot of surface wear but no cracks, large chips, deep gouges, or other major damage.  Some wear above the trigger but the trigger moves and locks fine.
Could be sanded and polished to a very good lever if desired.
Chuck moves and clamps fine.  The steel end cover has a couple of dents but it is removable and could be straightened.  All hardware looks good.
The wound extendable cord is probably original.  It is about 6' long partially extended.  Overall it is in good condition and should clean up.  Both cord ends have matching rubber boots that have some damage on their ends.  Probably savable with some work.
The info badge is solid but has so much surface wear that the stamped numbers are gone.  Maybe some cleanup will uncover what was there.
About 8 1/2" long with chuck.  Very heavy at 4 1/2 pounds.
Unique old CP drill that displays well as is.  Great one to restore and get back on the job!
