Ever feel like you are literally DROWNING in cornets and trumpets? No? Then you are not me. I need to get rid of the under-played instruments from my basement. Some of them are great, as I’ll be the first to tell you. Some are not great, and I’ll tell you that too. All of them looked interesting to me at some point. Maybe they’ll be interesting for you too.
Here’s a BUESCHER 15 C/Bb CORNET, or about 93% of one at any rate. It’s in its original case, and has its factory issued straight mute. The lead pipe is beat up and off, held on by the main tuning slide. It’s got its all key-change slides, except the 2nd main one is missing the sleeve insert tubing, and the water key and nipple. The 3rd valve is missing its top and bottom covers, and some slides are missing throw rods and bushings. OTHER THAN THAT, it’s complete, and all the valves and slides move and it can be blown. This would be a good candidate for repair and restore, but I don’t have time or patience for that anymore, so out it goes.
